CONFESSIONS

So I wanted to see how everyone else is doing. Honestly!!

I am struggling. My work schedule varies so much from week to week. My personal schedule varies so much from week to week. One week I might have my husband home to help, the next week, I may not. Kids at daycare, school, BB practice and more. Just like everyone else I am overwhelmed and a BUSY mom.

I am having a hard time getting all my meals in, in a day. I feel like I am having a good day if I get 3 or 4 meals in. Starting the whole diet process has been hard enough but honestly ( I hope I don't hurt feelings) the rest of it, is about to send me over the edge.

Trying to find one good new habit, lose one old habit, post a blog, meet up for a team meeting, respond to an opponent and a team player everyday, make sure I get my score in for the day in by 9pm, managing my work time and family time, it is all about to send me over the edge. I feel alone. I have no idea if anyone else is struggling as much as I am or not. At times, I just want to throw in the towel.

Is anyone else struggling out there, or am I all alone????

  1. Hey girl you're not alone :-) I am a single mom and coming out of a heart wrenchingly pain full break up with my soul mate (its for the best for now ) . My daughter is in dance , an honor student and active in her youth group . I work five days a week and am tired as well :-) I tell you this so you know your not alone .
Some stuff I did to help myself through the first week was last Saturday and sunday I put together with my daughters help , snacks and precut veggies for the week in little baggies and glad containers also figured a menu out and what part of the meals my daughter could do each night . I am not sure how old your kids are but the kids really will help keep you going if you tell them what moms doing, involve them they will feel special :-) and push you ! its funny my fifi keeps saying mommy i dont think you have drank enough water .... hahahah. also do you guys have a wei ?? thats a super fun way to get some cardio in and include the kids and have family time they again will push you :-) they love feeling like they know more then us lol . even if your kids are five or six they can help put veggies you cut in ziplock bags or count out nuts or pre-bag three small means in a brown bag add your cheese or crackers ex...
You got this girl! Your already having success I think I read you lost 4 lbs already that so great ! We just need to tweak the steps for you a bit . This is sopose to be fun and motivating and empowering my cell is 360 821 8096 we can shoot each other a tx in the day and push one another :-) I cant wait to meet you !!! we can do this :-) you're not alone and sheila is wonderful she has been my friend since we were 14 hahaha she is good people and may have some great quick snack or meal tips . one last thought is there anytime in the day where you can take stairs instead of an elevator or park farther away from a building and do a good speed walk to you destinations ? you can add those five mins here and there up :-) as far as the weekly meeting sheila is updating me because i live out of town maybe she can help you out in that way as well .… well hun this was a long message hahaha we are all here for you even the gals on the other team the ultimate goal is to get healthy support one another and make new friends . you already made it through the tough part committing and getting started . good luck tomorrow sam :-)

  2. Thanks so much Sam.
You are right. My kids would love to help me. We have a wii that we enjoy dancing with : ) I thought the water would be the hardest part, but eating the 5 meals a day has actually been a struggle. I know many of us are much in the same boat when it comes to our time. We all do the best we can, right ;)
Thanks for your encouragement. I can tell that all you girls are GREAT people : )
Hope this next week goes well for you too.

    1. Your 5 meals. I knew that this was going to be my biggest challenge. The past 3-4 years I pretty much only ate 1-2 meals a day. I would work, work, work and forget to eat. The only way that I saw myself being able to conquer this was to plan ahead and set an alarm on my phone. This has made it super simple for me. I set my alarm for to go off 2-3 hours apart 5 times a day. I might not get to eat right that second, but I try to within the hour.

Meal planning helps tremendously, I hated always trying to figure "what am I going to eat today," it wasted so much of my time trying to figure it. I created a whole month of 5 meals a day. If that seems overwhelming try setting up 7 days at a time. This saves shopping time, too since you will already know what you will need. I believe that Jen from the other team, took this idea one step forward and actually created most of her meals for the whole week on her day off from work. And Sam did that with her 2 snacks a day.

Here are some make ahead and freeze meal ideas and an organized ready to go snack solution that might help with your meals. Note: some meals might not be our sanctioned meals (foods on our list, so you may have to tweak some). And as Sam said, I bet your kids would love to help you set this up. My girls ages 6 and 8, love helping me in the kitchen! It's good to set them up a healthy snack station, too.

This is a great meal planner idea, kids can help create.

I hope this helps. For me organization and planning is key. 【ツ】SS

  3. I hear you Amber. Nursing school takes 60-70 hours a week of my time, plus I work part time, plus I'm a mom with a very active daughter & I volunteer at her school. Trying to fit time in at the gym, keep in touch & plan out meals has been tough. I just keep reminding myself "one month, just one month!". Hopefully, we will pick up some positive habits out of this after the month is over. Don't beat yourself up if you can't get all of your points everyday. Do the best you can. That is what this is all about, being the best you that you can be.

  4. Hey Amber!

You are doing awesome!! This is hard for everyone, I think. The not snacking has been the hardest for me. Even though I would mostly eat healthy I snacked a lot more than I realized.

I do a smoothie for the first meal of the day. It is an easy way to get the extra meal in. I am not hungry when I first wake up so it is a good solution for me to drink a meal!

The communication and weekly meetings are hard for me as well, but for the past several years I have noticed that my busy life has come between me and my social life. I have enjoyed this challenge as a way to force myself out of the house ... even when it feels like there isn't time I feel better because I got the time in. The weekly meetings aren't mandatory, but fun and helpful!

  5. Amber,
I think every body has pretty much said what I was thinking. The biggest think for me each day is knowing that I'm making changes in my life and I get to do it with friends. The fact that we are all literally going through the same challenges and knowing that we have each other to talk to kind of takes the weight off(no pun intended). it's not all about the point's. Yes everyone wants to win here but I think it's more important that we each accomplish the goal(s) we set for ourselves. If your doing all you can do and you feel good about your accomplishments your doing what you need to for You. Your doing awesome and we are all proud of you.
